In belt filter press, the concentrated sludge is fully mixed with a
certain concentration of flocculant in a static and dynamic mixer, so tiny
solid particles in the sludge grow into larger flocculent masses and free water
are separated. The flocculated sludge is transported to the concentrated
gravity dewatering filter belt and more free water are separated by
gravity. Meanwhile, stagnant sludge form
into shape and go through wedge precompressed zone, low pressure zone and high
pressure area between the upper and lower belts. Under the growing force of
pressure and shear, the sludge is been continuously squeezing in order to
achieve the maximum degree of separation between mud and water, and finally
discharge cakes.
